Iran basketball team winning streak rises to 5

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_13-1(268).jpgThe Iranians basketball team beat Bahrain in Group F of the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, remained undefeated in the 15-nation tournament. 
 
The Persians defeated Bahrain 75-56 and entered the knockout quarterfinal stage as the No. 1 seed in Group F, fortifying their billing as the favorites to win it all.
 
Samad Nikkhah Bahrami led Iran with 15 points. The team will face Kazakhstan on Wednesday.
 
“I’m not happy with our bench players. They didn’t do certain things [in the game],” said Iran’s Slovenian Coach Mehmed Becirovic in the post match news conference. 
 
Iran crushed Malaysia, 115-25, to open its FIBA-Asia campaign on a resounding note, then earned the convincing wins over South Korea, 76-65, China, 70-51 and India, 102-58 respectively.
 
The top three teams will represent Asia at the FIBA World Cup to be played in Spain next year.
