|Iran to participate in Islamic Solidarity Games||
Iran is taking part at the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games which will be held in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia, from September 22 to October 1.
A total of 88 athletes will represent Iran in the competitions.
Athletes from 55 Asian countries will compete in 13 games in the event.
The 2009 event, originally scheduled to take place in Iran, and later re-scheduled for April 2010, was canceled after a dispute arose between Iran and the Arab countries.
Iran won 30 medals, including 10 gold medals, nine silvers and 11 bronze medals in the first edition of the competitions held in the Islamic holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 2005.
