|Iran's Foolad Mahan wins 24th FIBA Asia Champions Cup||
Foolad Mahan of Iran claimed the 24th FIBA Asia Champions Cup by beating Qatar’s Al Rayyan 84-74 in the final match held in Amman, Jordan.
Boney Harold Watson netted game-high 27 points for Al Rayyan while Mahdi Kamrani finished with 21 points for Foolad Mahan.
“I am happy to win the title since the strong teams participated at the competition. It’s a big event for Iran’s basketball to win the FIBA Asia Champions Cup,” Foolad Mahan coach Mohsen Sadeghzadeh said.
The FIBA Asia Champions Cup, previously known as the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) Champions Cup until 2002, is Asia’s premier club level basketball competition, involving the champion clubs of Asian countries.
It is organized by FIBA Asia and takes place once a year. A total of 10 professional basketball clubs qualify every year from the sub-zones of FIBA Asia.
