|Blatter offers condolences on passing of Jedikar||
FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter has sent a letter of condolence to Iranian Football Federation President Ali Kafashian upon learning of the death of Biyouk Jedikar at the age of 84.
“On behalf of FIFA and the global family of football, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Iranian Football Federation (IFF) on learning of the death of legendary former Esteghlal striker Biyouk Jedikar.
“Jedikar will always be remembered for his major role in football as a striker. He was a great football player since he is the first Iranian who was transferred to a foreign club (Viktoria 89 Berlin),” wrote the FIFA President.
Jedikar, whose nickname was Golden Left, was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. He was laid to rest in Tehran's Behesht-e Zahra cemetery on Friday.
