TEHRAN – Persepolis moved two places up in the Iran Professional League (IPL) table after beating Saba here on Friday.
The Iranian popular team defeated Saba 3-1 at the Azadi Stadium.

Persepolis captain Reza Noormohammadi extended the lead in the 34th minute.
Four minutes later, Saba striker Reza Enayati missed a penalty.
In the 88th minute, Persepolis iconic midfielder Payam Sadeghian found the back of net. He was selected as the Man of the Match as well.
Enayati scored a consolation goal in the dying moments of the match.
“First, I have to say we didn’t play well in the first half but scored twice. In the second half, we played one of our best performances in the season,” Persepolis coach Ali Daei said in the post match news conference.
“Also, the referee (Faghani) showed the spot but it was not a penalty. In addition, I think some of their chances were in offside positions,” he added.
Foolad is first at IPL table with 51 points, followed by Esteghlal (50) and Persepolis (48).
