|Iran assistant coach Namazi resigns||
TEHRAN – Omid Namazi has stepped down from his role as assistant coach of the Iranian national football team on Friday.
He resigned from the post to spend more time with his family.
“I quit my job for family reasons. I couldn’t continue with the national team. I’m sorry to leave Iran football team. Every coach dreams of sitting on the bench at the World Cup but at the moment I’d rather be with my children than the national team,” Namazi said.
The Iranian-American Namazi was appointed as Carlos Queiroz’s in 2011.
Last week, Antonio Simoes also parted company with Iran football team due to personal problems.
Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, general secretary of Iran Football Federation, said Iran has negotiated with two Brazilian coaches and a coach from Argentina to join the national team.
