|Iran loses to Guinea in friendly||
TEHRAN – Iran football team lost to Guinea 2-1 in a friendly here on Wednesday.
Milan midfielder Kevin Constant found the back of the net in the 34th minute from a long distance.
Three minutes later, Stuttgart striker Ibrahima Traore extended Guinea’s lead with a powerful shot.
Reza Ghoochannejhad, who joined Charlton Athletic in January, pulled a goal back in the 55th minute.
“We have to learn from the defeat. Iran needs more warm-up matches to prepare for the 2014 World Cup,” Carlos Queiroz said in the post match news conference.
Iran will hold a training camp in Johannesburg, South Africa from April 13 and it will last 24 days.
Carlos Queiroz’s team is scheduled to play three friendly matches with South African clubs and Mozambique in this camp.
Iran will also play Belarus, Montenegro, Macedonia and Angola in its pre-tournament camp in Austria in May.
The Asian powerhouse will face Trinidad and Tobago in its final preparation for the 2014 World Cup. The match will be held in Sao Paolo, Brazil on June 8.
The Iranian team has been pitted against Nigeria, Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Group F of the 2014 World Cup.
Iran will play Nigeria in Curitiba on June 16.
