|Iran drawn with Qatar, Bahrain for 2015 Asian Cup||
Triple Asian champion Iran has been drawn in Group C of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
Iran has been pitted against the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain for next year's Asian Cup.
"Our group is quite balanced with three Arabic countries, neighbors, rivals, a lot of tension and emotion," Iran's Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz said.
"So it will tough, but I think Iran will have a good chance for a medal, especially for the Asian teams going to the World Cup."
Queiroz, who was a former assistant manager under Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and the manager of Real Madrid and Portugal, ends his contract with Iran after the World Cup and will not be leading the team to the Asian Cup.
Tournament host Australia will meet Kuwait, Oman, and South Korea in Group A. Group B brings together Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, China, and North Korea.
Champion Japan was drawn in Group D with Jordan, which it lost against for the first time in World Cup qualifying last year, 2007 Asian Cup winner Iraq and the champion of this year’s Asian Challenge Cup, which will be decided in May.
