Iran ended a four-match winless streak by beating Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in a friendly in Sao Paulo on Sunday.
Ehsan Hajsafi was on target for the Iranian football team in the first-half injury time.
Iran midfielder Ashkan Dejagah was brought down in the area in the 50th minute but captain Javad Nekounam could not convert the chance.
Reza Ghoochannejad scored Iran’s second goal four minutes later.
Iran opened its World Cup preparations with three friendlies in Austria, 0-0 draws against Belarus and Montenegro, then a 1-1 draw with Angola.
“It was a game that has fulfilled our expectations. We are preparing for the first match against Nigeria. Our only concern is Nigeria at this moment,” Oceano Cruz told Globoesporte.
“Victory is always important to create a culture of winning. This only happens with results like this,” the Portuguese added.
Iran will play Nigeria in Group F of the 2014 World Cup on June 16 in Curitiba in its opening match.
Carlos Queiroz’s men will then play Argentina on June 21 and Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 25.
