c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_09_03.jpgAP journalist Pan Pylas, who watched Iran’s match against Nigeria, believed that the Iranian football team has a good chance to qualify for knock out stage if they continue their good performance against Argentina and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

“The strong point of the Iranian football team is their defense. They defend pretty-well and waited for chances on the counter attacks. Iran also had a fantastic chance to score when Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama saved Reza Ghoochannejhad’s header in the 34th minute” Pylas, who was covering Iran – Nigeria match for AP, told Tehran Times correspondent.

“Maybe Iran can repeat what Chelsea did in 2012 UEFA Champions League or what Greece did in 2004 Euro. Carlos Queiroz is a great coach who, knows everything. He worked for Manchester United and Real Madrid, so he knows how to play his cards in the World Cup” Pylas continued.

“We have no doubt that Queiroz has plans for the other two matches, especially the match against Argentina. Iran has a good chance to qualify from this tough group if they continue their good run in World Cup.”

Iran managed to grab a point in the first match of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil against Nigeria with a goalless draw on Monday in Curitiba.

Carlos Quiroz’s men will play their next match against Argentina in Belo Horizente on Saturday.
