|Iran volleyball team to play U.S. in Los Angeles||
TEHRAN – Head of Iran Volleyball Federation Mohammad Reza Davarzani said that the Iranian team will play four friendlies against the U.S. in Los Angeles in preparation for the 2014 Volleyball World Championship.
The World Championship will be held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014.
Iran is in Pool D along with Italy, the U.S., France, Belgium and a representative from North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation.
The Iranian volleyball team will play the U.S. on August 9, 13, 15, and 16, all in Los Angeles, Davarzani said.
“After playing against Poland on July 4 and 5 in the 2014 FIVB World League, we will return to Tehran and will prepare for the final round of the competitions, which will be held from July 16 to 20 in Italy,” he said.
“Iran will play six matches in the FIVB World League and then we will come back to Tehran and shortly after we will travel to Los Angeles to play four frienlies against the U.S.,” head of Iran Volleyball Federation stated.
The Iranian volleyball team will return to Tehran and continue its preparation.
The team is to leave the country at the end of August to take part in the 2014 Volleyball World Championship.
After the 2014 Volleyball World Championship, Slobodan Kovac’s men will move straight to Incheon, South Korea from Poland to participate in the 2014 Asian Games.
