The 2014 FIVB World League final six will be held at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy from July 16.

Iran will play the world’s first two teams Brazil and Russia in a single round-robin in Pool I.

Pool H consists of host Italy, the U.S. and the winner of France and Australia.

“Iran will play Brazil and Russia, who are at top of the world rankings but has already showed that everything is possible, winning against Brazil two times and playing very high level matches against Russia in the recent past,” Mauro Berruto told Tehran Times correspondent via email.

“Of course, the most important thing is not the coach. Not (Mauro) Berruto, not (Julio)Velasco, not (Slobodan)Kovac, not (Bernardo)Rezende. The most important things are players, so the passage to next stage is in their hands,” the 45-year-old said.

Brazil has won the FIVB World League nine times. The Italian volleyball team has won eight times so far and it’s a good opportunity for them to be on a par with the Brazilian team.

“I don’t think so,” Berruto said. “We can not be considered favorite to win the title. In Florence we will have for sure the best teams in the world. The first, second, third and fourth teams of the World Ranking as well as Iran and probably France which their value is A LOT higher of their world ranking.

“So the competition is totally opened and I suppose we must consider Brazil and Russia as the tournament’s favorites,” Brutto said.
