Iran volleyball coach Hossein Madani dies at age 43

Iran volleyball team assistant coach died at the Laleh Hospital in Tehran at the age of 43. 
Madani was diagnosed with a severe respiratory disease two weeks ago and could not travel to Florence, Italy along with Iran volleyball team.
Slobodan Kovac’s team came in fourth place in the 2014 FIVB World League after being defeated by the U.S. and Italy volleyball teams.
Under tutelage of Madani, the Iranian volleyball team claimed the titles of the Asian Men's Cup Volleyball Championship in 2008 and 2010. 
The former Iran’s setter was appointed as assistant coach of Slobodan Kovac in March. 
Head of Iran Volleyball Federation, Mohammad-Reza Davarzani, has sent a condolence message over death of Madani, saying he was one of the most effective Iranian coaches over the past decade. 
Madani will be laid to rest on Sunday in Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra cemetery.
The Tehran Times staff also offers its heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
