|Sardar Azmoun’s late strike secures Rubin Kazan’s first point of the season||
Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun’s 87th minute goal secured a 1-1 draw for Rubin Kazan against Terek Grozny in the second week of the Russian Premier League on Saturday.
The 19-year-old, who played the whole 90 minutes, as he did in the first game of the season, gave a great performance, creating a couple of goal scoring opportunities.
In the 72nd minute, Azmoun hit the cross bar after passing the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs. He finally found the back of the net with just three minutes remaining to prevent Rubin Kazan’s second defeat of the new season.
Rubin Kazan was thrashed 4-0 in the season’s first game in front of their home fans. After Saturday’s draw against Terek Grozny, they are in 12th place with one point.
