Iran’s Eshaghi wins gold in Youth Olympic Games

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_09-5(3).jpgIran’s Mahdi Eshaghi claimed a gold medal at the Men -48kg taekwondo event at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games on Sunday. 
Eshaghi defeated Chen-Yu Wang 17-9 in the final match and won the gold medal at the Int. Expo Centre Hall D in Nanjing, China.  
The 16-year-old athlete defeated Tawin Hanprab from Thailand 20-12 in the quarterfinals and then beat Stephane Audibert from France 16-0 in the semifinals. 
Iran is taking part in the Youth Olympics Games with 16 athletes in swimming, judo, shooting, equestrian, athletic, taekwondo, beach volleyball, Greco-Roman and weightlifting.
