|Iranian judoka Safaviyeh claims gold at Youth Olympic Games||
Iranian judoka Ramin Safaviyeh has won the gold medal at the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old judoka defeated German Domenik Schonefeldt in the semi-final of the -100kg weight category at the Longjiang Gymnasium.
In the Contest for Gold Medal, Safaviyeh beat Rostislav Dashkov and won the gold medal.
Iran’s Mahdi Eshaghi has already claimed a gold medal at the men -48kg taekwondo event at the competitions.
Iran is taking part in the Youth Olympics Games with 16 athletes in swimming, judo, shooting, equestrian, athletic, taekwondo, beach volleyball, Greco-Roman and weightlifting.
The Summer Youth Olympic Games kicked off in Nanjing on August 17.
The competitions have brought over 3700 young sportsmen from 204 countries together.
The Youth Olympic Games are includes in 31 sports. The games will end on August 28.
