Speaking to reporters at the airport, he said his current visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran is aimed at expanding parliamentary cooperation as well as deepening mutual relations between the two Islamic states.
"We are now witnessing expansion of all-out relations between the two countries and are proud of it", he said.
Highlighting regional and global issues, he said the existing situation in the world calls for an exchange of views on various topics by the two sides.
Karrubi, for his part, said the exchange of visits between officials help further deepen and broaden bilateral relations.
He expressed the hope that such visits to bear fruits for the world Muslims as well as the region.
His visit is in response to Karoubi's visit to Riyadh in 2001. Saleh bin Abdullah Bin Hamid will confer with a number of high ranking Iranian officials during his visit to Tehran.
