TEHRAN -- Managing Director of Iranology Center in Moscow Rajab Safarouf said on Wednesday that the U.S. Foreign Secretary’s statement on supporting Iran’s recent unrest is interference in the internal affairs of the country and a clear violation of the human rights.

According to the report released by the Mehr News Agency, Safarouf in an exclusive interview with a Moscow-based radio, “Eco Moscow”, said: I believe that the situation in Iran is completely under the control.

The student unrest was sparked off last Monday in protest to a decision by the Ministry of Science, research and technology to privatize the universities.

Safarouf add that nearly 40 millions of the country’s 70 million population are under the age of 25 and the government cannot render financial assistance to all of them to go to the state universities.

Iran’s unrest is completely an internal affair, occurring in every other country when the people are dissatisfied with some government policies. This is a common issue, and even it is natural,” Safarouf concluded. SN/SM END MNA
