Khoramshahr Customs Exports $45m Worth of Goods

Tehran (Mehr News Agency) – During the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2003), Khooramshahr Customs Office exported $45 million worth of non-oil commodities, general director of the office Jacob Roshanaee announced.

“Kuwait and Iraq has been the major importers of the goods,” he added.

The volume, which comprised 302 thousand tons of different goods, showed 6 and 76 percent increase in weight and value respectively, compared with the corresponding period last year.

Building materials, food and agricultural products, cattle food, home furnishings, detergents, and carpets were among the exported products, Roshanaee stated.

Some 60,000 tons of goods, valued at $12.1 million, have been exported from Shalamcheh border to Iraq since September 20, he said.

Meanwhile, during the past seven months of the current Iranian year, $404 million worth of commodities were imported to the country via Khooramshahr Customs Office, he added, saying it showed a 50% growth. “Home furnishings, computers and marginal instruments, road construction materials, rubber, and plastics were the main imported goods.” ER/IS END MNA
