Supreme Leader donates rare Quranic works to Astan-e Qods Museum

TEHRAN -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei recently donated two rare Quranic works to the Astan-e Qods Razavi Museum of Manuscripts in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Wednesday.
The manuscript expert of the museum said that the two works contain several joz’s of the Quran written on pieces of metal. The Quran is divided into 30 sections called joz’s.
Mohammadreza Fazel Hashemi said that in one of the works the third joz of the Quran has been beautifully inscribed on several pieces of copper weighing about 10 kilos.
In the second work, Surah Ya Seen has been inscribed on several pieces of brass which weigh four kilos.
The two rare works have been registered at the museum and will be studied by researchers.
Over the years, the Supreme Leader has donated a total of 6000 rare manuscripts to the Astan-e Qods Razavi Complex.
