Iranian actor Qadakchian dies

TEHRAN -- The veteran of Iranian stage, screen, and radio Ahmad Qadakchian died of heart failure at the age of 86 Friday morning.

Qadakchian started his theater career at an acting school.

He appeared in 23 plays and 117 films, including “Whirlpool” directed by Amir Khoshkharam, Red Line” by Masud Kimiaii, “Dispute“ by Mohammad-Ali Sajjadi, “Yearning” by Mohammad Hassanzadeh, and “Legacy” by Mohammad-Kazem Baluchi.

He is survived by two sons Kamran and Hamid who serve as an author-director and a sound recorder respectively.

His funeral procession will start on Sunday at Iranian House of Cinema.
