TEHRAN -- The 14th Nomads Cultural-Sport Riding Festival is to open in Qara-Qaya near Kalibar in East Azarbaijan Province on May 12, the Persian service of CHN reported on Saturday.

Fourteen men and women nomads will be awarded for the best costumes in the event, the director of the Public Relations Office of the East Azarbaijan Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department told CHN.

A one-day tour of neighboring regions, pitching nomads’ tents, and baking traditional bread are some of the programs of the event.

Ayyub Jahdi, the director of the Public Relations Office of the East Azarbaijan Nomads Office, said that the festival will be held for the clans of the Arasbaran tribe, which were separated after Ardebil Province was detached from East Azarbaijan Province.
