TEHRAN -- Iranian director Majid Majidi and four other filmmakers have been selected to make films about Beijing, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported on Sunday.

The project was initiated by the Municipality of Beijing to help introduce the historical capital of China for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Each of the filmmakers is to make a five-minute film.

In their invitation, the selection committee called Majidi a great filmmaker whose films have played a major role in the promotion of cinema and expressed hope that his film would help introduce Beijing in the best way possible.
