Iran appoints new ambassador to Switzerland

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency) -- Proposed by Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki and approved by President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, Keyvan Imani was appointed as the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Switzerland.

A statement released by the Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Bureau said that Imani has already served as the Foreign Ministry's director for the Central and North European Affairs Department as well as Iran's ambassador to Hungary and Croatia.

Meantime, Mohammad Hosein Fadai-fard was appointed as Iran's ambassador to Croatia.

Fadai-fard used to serve as the director of the Foreign Ministry's American Affairs Department, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations and charge d'affaires in Venezuela and Canada.
