Iran-Sudan ties favorable: Haddad-Adel
In a meeting with the Sudanese ambassador to Iran, Abdullah Khasar al-Bashir, the speaker said Iran attaches special importance to the development of ties with Sudan as the biggest country in Africa which holds an ancient civilization and is part of the great Islamic world.
He expressed pleasure over the growing trend of economic and political ties between the two countries over the past few months.
Haddad-Adel thanked Sudan for its positive stances toward Iran’s nuclear issue at international level.
The speaker expressed hope that the crisis in Darfur in western Sudan would also be resolved as soon as possible through a vigilance of officials.
The Sudanese ambassador, for his part, said that Khartoum seeks to expand its ties with Iran.
Considering the current problems faced by the Islamic world it is essential to further develop ties between Islamic states, he stated.
Sudan believes that very close relations between parliaments from Islamic countries is the best approach to face the current challenges of the Islamic world, he argued.
The envoy also stressed that serious efforts should be made to consolidate unity among Islamic states.
Al-Bashir submitted an official invitation from the Sudanese parliament speaker to Haddad Adel who had said he would visit Iran at the appropriate time.
