Iran, Oman review development of ties in Muscat

DUBAI (IRNA) – Energy Minister Parviz Fattah on Tuesday conferred with Omani high ranking officials on expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Heading an Iranian delegation, the Iranian minister met with Omani Minister of National Heritage and Culture Haythim bin Tariq al-Said and conveyed a verbal message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Said.

President Ahmadinejad underlined the firm determination of Iranian government to further broaden the friendly ties.

According to Iran's embassy in Muscat, the Iranian minister also held talks with Omani Minister of Housing, Electricity and Water Khamis bin Mubarak bin Isa al-Alawi and Minister of Regional Municipalities, Environment, and Water Resources Abdallah bin Muhammad bin Abdallah al-Ruwas on expansion of mutual relations between the two countries.

Given Iran's very high capabilities in technical, scientific and engineering fields, the Iranian minister voiced his country's readiness to assist Oman in putting into practice various infrastructure projects as construction of dams, power plants, irrigation systems and roads.

The Iranian minister and his entourage visited a number of historical and industrial sites during their stay in Oman.
