BEIRUT -- Political, cultural, and media delegations are still visiting the areas of the Zahie district of Beirut demolished during the Israeli assault, the Mehr News Agency correspondent in Lebanon reported on Friday.
Teams from ten different international television networks reported on the level of destruction in Zahie as well as the situation of Hezbollah and civil society institutions.
Visits by Islamic scholars such as Lebanon's Grand Mufti Mohammed Rashid Kabbani were warmly welcomed by Zahie residents and Hezbollah supporters, although the delegation from the social democratic faction headed by Walid Jumblatt was not well received. This was probably due to the fact that Jumblatt adopted an irresponsible position and criticized the resistance.
