Iran ready to assist Lebanon: VP
Addressing IRNA upon arriving at Damascus airport, he said that after the unfair attacks of the usurper Zionist regime on Lebanon, which resulted in the victory of the Lebanese nation, it is necessary to participate in the country's reconstruction.
The Iranian official hoped that during his short visit to Beirut, he will get an idea on the country's problems and pass on Iran's relief package to the Lebanese government and nation.
He underlined that Israel is responsible for the great losses inflicted on Lebanon and urged that it should compensate.
Saeedloo said that during the visit, he is scheduled to meet with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, Prime Minister Fuad Seniora and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to submit them what has been promised.
Upon arrival at Damascus International Airport, he was officially welcomed by the Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ahmad Arnous and Iran's Charge d'Affaires to the country Ghazanfar Roknabadi.
Heading an Iranian delegation, Saeedloo departed for Beirut on the heels of being officially welcomed at Damascus airport.
