TEHRAN (MNA) – “Our people want to watch real plays, but the theaters cannot meet the audiences’ needs,” veteran Iranian actor Ezzatollah Entezami told the Art Bureau here on Tuesday.

The halls in cultural centers are not suitable for theater performances, he regretted.

Experts are needed to construct halls that are proper for film screenings as well as play and orchestra performances, he added.

As a jury member of the third Mah Theater Festival held at the bureau in August, he praised the event. “I saw outstanding and beautiful works which I proposed to be staged publicly later.”

Entezami expressed hope that the Art Bureau’s Center for Dramatic Arts will make more progress and help remedy some part of theater’s shortcomings.
