TEHRAN -- “Although I was determined not to play in religious and historical films, I was fascinated by the screenplay of Mohammad Varzi’s ‘Abraham, the Messenger’,” the Iranian star of stage and screen Behzad Farahani said here on Tuesday.
Farahani played the role of an idol maker in the movie which is currently on screen at Tehran’s theaters. The movie also stars Mohammad Sadeqi, Khosro Farrokhzadi, and Hessam Navvab-Safavi
“Unfortunately there are few references for historical events,” Farahani regretted.
He opposes the separation of cinematic genres, arguing that every movie has its own features for the viewers. “Cinema is the seventh art that touches the inner being of mankind.”
