DOHA – Iran snatched four gold medals at the freestyle wrestling and karate events of 15th Asian Games here Wednesday.

Iran’s 60kg wrestler Morad Mohammadi took the glittering gold. Mohammadi overpowered South Korea’s Song Jae-myung in the final bout 4-0.

Representing Iran in the 74kg class, wrestler Ali-Asghar Bazri grabbed the gold. Bazri defeated South Korea’s Byung-kwan at both times.

In the 96kg, wrestler Alireza Heidari from Iran took the gold medal. Skipper Heidari beat Uzbekistan’s Oleg Kallagov 3-1 in the final showdown.

Iran’s under-65kg karateka Hassan Rowhani won the kumite gold medal.

Rowhani celebrated the title after an 8-7 victory over his Japanese opponent.
