Ardebil, Iran’s 4th major tourist destination: local official

ARDEBIL (IRNA) -- Ardebil province in northwestern Iran, the country's forth major tourist destination, is famous for its mineral water spas, dozens of ancient monuments, charming natural attractions and fresh climate.

Announcing this, mayor of Sar-Ein, a town in this northwestern province, Mehdi Hedayat added that on Thursday that about 30,000 tourists have arrived in this town since Tuesday, marking the end of fasting month of Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr), and that more visitors are still arriving.

The tourist town of Sar-Ein is situated 25 kilometers to the West of provincial capital of Ardebil on the slope of the 4,811-meter high mountain, Sabalan. It is considered as a pivotal tourist hub and is reckoned for possessing dozens of cold and hot mineral water spas, Sabalan Water Treatment Complex and Natural Bathhouse.

Hedayat said that Sar-Ein has 19 hotels, 50 motels, and 120 guest houses.
