Solidarity, resistance only way for Muslims to gain power: Leader
Addressing Islamic Republic officials and authorities, ambassadors of the Islamic countries to Iran and a number of people from different walks of life here in Tehran on Tuesday, he noted the backward status of the Muslims and their humiliation by other states in the past, and said, "Today the situation has differed as Muslims are now informed of their real identity. Therefore, everyone must appreciate this vigilance and try to use it in the right path."
The Leader reiterated that the most important factor contributing to Muslims' glory and grandeur is trusting in God Almighty. He further pointed to Palestine as the first issue of the world of Islam and the international community, and reminded, "One can trace the guilty hands of the world arrogance, which is led by the U.S. and Zionists, in all the problems and issues of the world of Islam, specially the Palestinian issue."
Noting the enemies' efforts for sowing seeds of discord among Muslims in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the vigilant moves and measures of the Hamas government in Palestine defused the enemies' plots and added, "The stances of the popular government of Hamas, that is, avoiding recognition of the Zionist regime and refraining from negotiations with the Israelis, are exactly what the Palestinian people demand."
He also described the heroic resistance and utilization of all potentials as the main factors underlying the victory of Lebanon against the Zionist regime, and underlined that the same paradigm could be picked up and practiced by the other Muslim nations on the condition that the officials of the Islamic countries prefer public interests to their own.
Elsewhere, the Supreme Leader said that the reason for recent plots in Iraq is the coming to power of a popular government in the country contrary to the occupiers' wishes.
He also urged the outstanding cultural, religious, political, social, popular and ethnic figures of Iraq to safeguard their unity and be watchful of enemies' plots.
"The outstanding cultural, religious, political, social, popular and ethnic figures in Iraq should maintain unity and vigilance and be careful not to fall in the trap of the enemy," Ayatollah Khamenei concluded.
