Ardebil power plant 60% complete

TEHRAN — Construction of the Ardebil gas-fueled power plant is 60 percent complete, the deputy director of the project told the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA).

The work, started seven months ago in the northwestern Iranian city, is ahead of the schedule and some Rls.70 billion has mainly gone toward installation costs, Mahmud Tusi continued, adding that the first unit will come on stream by the end of next summer.

Moreover, Ardebil governor-general has seen to it that the capacity is going to increase from 630 MW to 970, he elaborated.

Ardebil power plant is to push ahead the development of heavy industries in the province and keep the power-cuts under control.
