TEHRAN -- The historical Iranian city of Hamedan is prepping for the upcoming children’s film festival, according to an official of Farabi Cinematic Foundation.

The 21st International Film Festival for Children will be held in May after one year hiatus, the foundation’s director for festival affairs Mohammad-Saeid Qaeini Najafi said.

Hamedan Education Department is helping renovate the Student Organization and the House of Teacher halls for film screenings, he added.

Referring to an agreement between City Cinema Institute and the Art Bureau, Qaeini Najafi stated that Hamedan’s Qods Cinema is being equipped with audio and visual facilities.

He noted that the standard and well-equipped hall of Hamedan Governor General’s Office is to host the opening and closing galas.

Previous editions of the festival were hosted by Isfahan, central Iran. However, the organizers have decided to transfer the event to Hamedan permanently.
