TEHRAN, April 16 (MNA) -- The Iranian military is the most powerful one in the region, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Firuzabadi said here on Monday.

The Iranian Armed Forces are prepared to deliver a strong response to any possible threat from the enemy, Firuzabadi told the Mehr News Agency.

“Now, those who used to threaten us with improper estimations of our military might have realized that Iran is a powerful country and they can not confront it,” he said.

“The Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces have modern equipment, the names of which the enemies have not even heard, and if they did, they wouldn’t believe” that Iran has such devices, he added.

The latest war games were only a small manifestation of the country’s military potential, the general asserted.

“Now we are capable of domestically designing and producing the required military equipment” and thus have reduced the need to buy military equipment from other countries, he noted. RMN/HG END MNA
