Kazakhstan keen to invest in SSEZ

TEHRAN – Kazakh Ambassador to Tehran, Yerik Utembayev expressed his country’s eagerness to make investment in Sarakhs Special Economic Zone (SSEZ), northeastern Iran, ISNA reported.

He said that “Currently, transactions via the Caspian Sea are underway, but due to the geopolitical situation of SSEZ, we are after development of the land and rail transportations this region to the CIS countries.”
The ambassador also voiced his country’s preparedness to construct silos, GTL terminals, cement factories, and gas-fueled power plants in the zone as well as promotion of tourism, putting the zone’s role in economic growth of the Central Asian Countries at a great level.
For his part, Hossein Alipour managing director of SSEZ while introducing the potentials and advantages of the Zone expressed his readiness for forming a joint workgroup for putting the joint ventures into effect
