Iranian filmmaker to judge S. Korean festival

TEHRAN –- Iranian director Abolfazl Jalili has been selected as a jury member for the 9th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF).
Jalili along with filmmaker Bong Joon-Ho, film expert Chris Fujiwara, actress Uhm Ji-Won, and journalist Defne Gursoy will judge the International Competition Section of the gala, which will be held in South Korea from May 1 to 9.Acclaimed film “Buddha Collapsed out of Shame” by Iranian director Hana Makhmalbaf is amongst 12 films which will be competing in the event.
Focusing on digital, independent and art films, JIFF has been held annually since 2000 in Jeonju, South Korea.
Jalili was a jury member at 11th Pusan International Film Festival, which was held in South Korea in 2007.
