Iran-Sri Lanka shipping co-op bill forwarded to Majlis

TEHRAN -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad forwarded the Iran-Sri Lankan shipping cooperation bill to the Majlis.
This bill is in line with strengthening relations between Tehran and Colombo and emphasizes on the importance of shipping and the role it will play in future business activities and economic growth, Mehr reported.
This bill has 15 articles.
----------Islamic economics only solution to global crisis: researcher
TEHRAN –- A Malaysian researcher believes that the Islamic economy model is the only solution to the current global economy crisis.
Mohammad Mahmud Avan, who is a professor at the International Islamic University of Malaysia in the Review of Islamic Economy Gathering held here stated, “The current economy crisis which has spread all around the world has opened new windows to Islamic economics,” ISNA reported.
----------Iran to transfer port equipment to private sector this year
TEHRAN –- Iran’s port equipments will be transferred to the private sector by the end of the first half of this (Iranian calendar) year (March 21- March 20), Iran’s Ports and Shipping Organization’s Ports Director Manager Mohsen Sadeghifar said here on Friday.
“We have determined the framework of the transfer however the details of the tender and the length and price of the contract still remain to be resolved,” he said according to ISNA.
----------New engine possible every 3 years: IKCO
TEHRAN -- Iranian carmaker, Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) announced that it is able to produce a new engine every three years.
Iran Khodro Co. is capable of introducing a new national engine to the market every three years, IKCO Engine Research Division Managing Director Mohammad Zali stated, ISNA reported.
“Actualizing this goal requires the direct support of the government,” he added.
He warned, “Regardless of the investments made in the effort, if the expenses of the project are not covered, future programs for engine research and developing a national brand and reaching top place in global scale will be stopped.
----------9th industry-trade synergy confab opens Sunday
TEHRAN -- The 9th specialized conference on management of innovation is to be held by Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, IRNA reported.
“In the contemporary complex business atmosphere, innovation is a main advantage in competition,” Iran’s Trade Development Organization’s Young Advisors department chief, Ali-Reza Shojaie said.
“So to create innovation special attention should be paid to organizational systems, organizational cultures, and human resources capabilities, and it is essential that an innovative atmosphere be created,” he added.
