MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom may soon decide on a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, its chief executive Alexei Miller said on Friday.

Miller told a news conference that the project’s structure would be similar to the Shtokman deal, a giant gas field in the stormy Barents Sea. He said the new project could be located on the Yamal peninsula.
Gazprom controls the field and has a 51 percent stake in the Shtokman development company. France’s Total has a 25-percent stake and Norway’s StatoilHydro owns the remaining 24 percent.
