Persian-speaking countries pledge more cooperation

TEHRAN – The presidents of Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan released a statement on Thursday insisting on expansion of economic, security and cultural ties.

The statement came out at the end of the second trilateral meeting between the so-called Persian- speaking countries of Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Dushanbe.
Mahmud Ahmadinejad, Emomali Rahmon and Hamid Karzai discussed cultural affinities and ways to expand economic and political relations among the three states.
The presidents announced their readiness to strengthen cooperation in various fields including campaign against terrorism, drugs, separatism, extremism and organized crimes.
They also agreed to hold the next round of trilateral talks in Tehran next year
