Photo exhibit on Imam Khomeini underway in Axkhaneh

TEHRAN -- An exhibition of photos from the mourning ceremony of the late Imam Khomeini is currently underway at Axkhaneh Shahr, Iran’s photo museum in Tehran.
A total of 25 photos belonging to the museum’s storehouse are being showcased at the venue which is located on Bahar Shiraz St. in the Haft-e Tir Sq.
The exhibit is being held to commemorate the late Imam Khomeini on the eve of the anniversary of his death, which occurred on June 3, 1989.
Eshtiaq to perform at Moroccan festival
TEHRAN -- The Iranian ensemble Eshtiaq will be performing at the Mawazine Rhythms of the World Moroccan music festival currently underway in Rabat.
The ensemble, led by singer Alireza Qorbani, is scheduled to perform on May 19 at the Oriental section of Mawazine.
Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue gave a concert during the first day of the festival on May 15.
Numerous concerts by a galaxy of world-class musical celebrities, including Stevie Wonder, Bitty Mc Lean, The Neville Brothers, Alicia Keys, Sergio Mendes, are also slated for the gala, which runs until May 23.
Iranian paintings to go on display in Sudan
TEHRAN -- Artworks by Iranian painters will go on display in Sudan in near future.
After visiting the Iran Contemporary Painting Biennial, the Sudanese ambassador to Tehran, Abdullah Khasar al-Bashir expressed interest in Iranian paintings and proposed the holding of an exhibition in his country.
A total of 300 artworks will go on display at the gala of which 100 are miniature paintings and the rest are modern artworks.
Hamedan to host Old Iranian Melodies Festival
TEHRAN -- Hamedan will host the First Old Iranian Melodies Festival at the Ganjnameh Tourism-Cultural Complex from June 30 to July 3.
Six regional bands, including Faraj Alipur band from Lorestan, Liyan band from Bushehr, Mehregan band from Kermanshah, Havva band from Qashqai will perform music at the gala.
The festival aims to boost cultural tourism by performing music from different regions of Iran..
