ALGIERS – The Islamic Republic of Iran is participating in the 42nd Algiers International Trade Fair (FIA 2009) which opened on Saturday, said Iran’s commercial attaché to Algeria here on Saturday.

IRNA quoted Majid Qorbani-Faraz as saying that 12 private Iranian companies that are active in the fields of food, energy, and textiles have attended the fair.
“The event is a great opportunity for Iranian and Algerian industrialists to promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation,” he said.
The 42nd edition of FIA opened at the Algiers Exhibition Center with the participation of more than 1,300 exhibitors, including 870 representing about forty foreign countries.
The six-day trade event is being held under the theme “Together for a competitive and successful economy,” and is expected to attract about half a million visitors a day.
