Vienna hosting exhibition of Persian art and female costumes

TEHRAN -- Vienna is hosting a Persian Art exhibit displaying a collection of paintings and Iranian women’s traditional costumes.
A collection of 36 paintings by Mahvash Soheili and 100 sets of costumes designed by Eshrat Badr have been put on display for five days.Iran’s ambassador in Vienna Ebrahim Sheibani who attended the opening ceremony on Tuesday described Iran as the land of art and said that the collection on display is a window to a part of Iran’s rich culture.
“The trace of Iran’s culture is observed in many countries and its best example is the Persian words used in the language of the people in this region,” said Sheibani, adding that this relation has been maintained over years.
Iran’s cultural attaché Mohammad Kiarashi also present at the ceremony expressed his appreciation to the masters and students of art attending the ceremony.
A great number of Austrian artists and scholars visited the exhibit on its first day.
