ANKARA (AFP) -- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said U.S. President Barak Obama had invited him to visit Washington, Anatolia news agency reported on Friday.

Erdogan said the invitation was extended for October 29, but no date was yet fixed.
“I asked for alternative dates to be examined... and we will make a decision accordingly,” he told reporters on his way back from a visit to Iraq, according to Anatolia.
“If we decide on October 29, we'll go to the United States from Iran,” he said, referring to a visit he plans to make to Tehran.
Obama visited Turkey in April.
