TEHRAN -- Paintings and installation works on display at Tehran’s Arya Galery stimulate a nostalgic look back and feature dreams of a number of multicultural children living in Australia.
The works have been created by Abbas Mehran, who believes that he was strongly influenced by “Lust for Life”, Irving Stone’s book on the life of Vincent van Gogh.“Once Upon a Time”, “The Garden of Hedayat”, “We Kept on Giving Party at Our Home” and “Their Home Was Made of Clay and Straw” are some his works that take you into the past when children used to live alongside their grandparents.
The exhibit also showcases portraits of Amory, Sachem, Rafael, and Aida, four multicultural children living in Australia. The children have written their dreams for the future at the bottom of the portrait created by the Australia-based Iranian artist Mehran.
Sachem wants to become a goalkeeper for the Manchester United, Amory dreams of becoming an astronomer and Aida hopes to become a teacher.
The exhibit runs through October 27 at the gallery located at No. 11 Zarrin Alley, off Vali-e Asr Ave.
