14m tons of goods transit Khuzestan ports

AHVAZ – Over 14 million tons of goods passed through Khuzestan ports since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 2009).
This volume of movement, by 780 ships, shows a 16 percent increase compared to the same period a year before, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported a Khuzestan ports’ official stating.Alireza Khojaste said grains, ironworks, sugar, chemicals, mineral soil, sulfur and container goods were products transported through the ports.
He said over 45 percent of the goods loaded and discharged in the country pass through Khorramshahr, Abadan or Imam Khomeini ports.
