$10.4b non-oil exports in 8 months

TEHRAN – Iran has exported over $10.4 billion worth of non-oil products, excluding gas condensates, to the Asian continent in the eight-month period ended November 21, 2009, the deputy commerce minister stated.
Babak Afqahi added that more than 80 percent of the non-oil products in terms of value were exported to Asian countries, IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.He noted that exports to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states had increased by 10 percent.
As he said, non-oil exports to Iraq increased by 58.2 percent, to China by 26.4 percent, to Afghanistan by 48 percent and to Pakistan by 72 percent.
He cited exports to Europe amounted to $1 billion, accounting for 14 percent of the total figure in terms of value. Non-oil exports to African and to American countries were $201 million and $152 million during this period respectively.
Iran Customs Administration reported that in the first 8 months of the current (Iranian) year, the export of non-oil products, including gas condensates, reached $15.63 billion which shows an 8.29 percent increase compared to the same period a year before
