Observance of law essential for sustained development

TEHRAN – The Majlis speaker stated that all people should be law-abiding and no one should overstep the boundaries, saying this is essential for a sustainable progress.

Ali Larijani made the remarks in Sabzevar, a city in the Khorassan Razavi province, late on Saturday.
The development plans should be implemented based on the law, otherwise it may result in a disorderly situation in the country, he opined.
“Efforts to develop country should be made within the framework of the law; in this way the progress become predictable, otherwise the development will be unbalanced.”
Intensification of disputes will be erosive
Commenting on the incidents that have followed the June presidential election, he said that every move which fans the flames of disputes will be erosive.
He described the Supreme Leader and the clergy as the reliable mainstays of the country, saying, “If we wish the well-being of the country and the revolution, we should follow the clergy.”
Economy has not experienced a progressive trend
Commenting on progress in various areas, he said although Iran has made notable progress in various dimensions “our economy has not developed considerably compared to developments in other areas.”
He went on to say that the decision to privatize state-owned companies was a correct move, emphasizing that the size of the administration should become smaller and the private sector should take control of economic activities.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he commented that Iran has attained a notable clout in the region, saying, “This influence has made certain powers worried and they want to undermine Iran’s position.”
“We have tolerated many sufferings to reach this position; we have endured hardships for 25 years to acquire nuclear know-how.
