‘Persian Gulf-Central Asia corridor will cause revolution in regional transport’

TEHRAN -- Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki stated on Tuesday that transit route connecting Central Asia to the Persian Gulf will cause a revolution in regional transportation.
Talking to his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov in Tehran on Tuesday, Mottaki welcomed the quadrilateral initiative made by Iran, Turkmenistan, Oman, and Uzbekistan to construct the transit way.Mottaki called it a key decision which will connect Central Asia and Persian Gulf countries.
The top diplomat also expressed Iran’s readiness to help Turkmenistan to develop its energy sector especially in oil and gas transfer, electricity transmission, and the building of facilities for land and railway transportation.
For his part, the Turkmen foreign minister said the main goal behind his travel to Tehran was developing Tehran-Ashgabat ties
